GEO KOMPSAT-3(GK-3) is planned to be launched in 2027, and an SBAS payload is being developed to provide SBAS services on the Korean Peninsula. The GK-3 SBAS payload is
scheduled to take over the mission when the mission of an overseas satellite leased and used by the Korea Augmentation Satellite System (KASS) ends. Also, it will be used in the
verification of the algorithm required for KASS performance advancement. Meanwhile, a ground verification system is being developed to verify the function and performance of the GK-3
SBAS payload on the ground. The ground verification system (GVS) consists of a radio frequency generation system (RFS) and a signal generation system (SGS). The SGS generates
SBAS data for testing and generates uplink signals according to the SBAS L1/L5 standard. In addition, by receiving the L1/L5 signals from the GK-3 SBAS payload, controlling the
synchronization between the code and the carrier of the SBAS signal, and adjusting the transmitted signal so that the SBAS signal transmitted from the GK-3 SBAS antenna is synchronized
with the GPS. This paper presents the preliminary design of the SGS that performs the function of generating SBAS signal and adjusting the signal.
