Trends in the Analysis of Interference Between RNSS and Unintentional Radar

We present a technical trend in the area of analysis of the unintentional radar signal’s interference on the radionavigation-satellite service (RNSS) receivers. If we take the band of 1 215-1 300
MHz,
the study on the performance degradation due to the Radio Frequency Interferences (RFI), in other words, unintentional radar signal is mostly focused on Galileo E6 band. Firstly, air traffic
control
radar interference event in the Galileo E6 band and how to mitigate it is presented. Characterization method of radar interference sources in the Galileo E6 band is also presented. We also
review the
calculation method to determine aggregate interference parameters of pulsed RF from ITU-R M.2220-1 and the evaluation method for pulsed interference systems from ITU-R M.2030.
