Designing a new GNSS signal is a key issue in the development of new satellite navigation systems and the modernization of existing systems. When designing a new GNSS signal, we have to consider RF compatibility with the legacy or expected GNSS signals as well as other radio systems. This paper introduces a sequential procedure for evaluating RF compatibility. We present a compatibility assessment method that is composed of analytical and numerical simulations, and software and hardware integration test. The results of analytical and numerical simulation as well as a conceptual block diagram of the software and hardware integration test are presented.
