Development of a Numerical Simulator for KPS Signal Design
Heon Shin, Kahee Han, Jong-Hoon Won
This paper deals with the development of a numerical signal design simulator (NSDS) for the signal design of Korea Positioning System (KPS). The NSDS consists of a signal generator module, a channel module, and a receiver module. The developed signal design simulator is designed by considering the actual satellite payload and receiver architecture. NSDS can be used to design a real GNSS signal because it can perform not only the signal generation and processing but also the calculation of element-specific Figure of Merits (FoMs) of the intended signal. In this paper, we calculate and analyze typical FoMs of designed signals through a simple example scenario of signal design to verify the feasibility of the developed signal design simulator.
