Annual Prediction of Multi-GNSS Navigation Performance in Urban Canyon
Hyojeong Seok, Cheolsoon Lim, Donghwan Yoon, Byungwoon Park*

Due to the impact of high-rise buildings and several geographic features in urban areas , GPS-only navigation cannot guarantee the minimum number of visible satellites for the users all day long. A lack of visible satellites and poor DOP (Dilution of Precision) in urban canyon decrease availability and accuracy of user postion, but currently GLONASS of Russia help to solve user's own position in GPS-denied region. Besides GLONASS, emerging GNSS, which are Galileo of EU, Beidou of China, QZSS of Japan, and IRNSS of India, is expected to improve the global navigation performance, and the multi-GNSS effect on Asia would be bigger than other region. In this paper, we predict the number of multi-GNSS satellites and visible satellites in the Korean peninsula using navigation satellite launch plan and its nominal orbit parameters. Based on it, we forecast the multi-GNSS receive navigation performance of DOP from 2014 to 2020 using Matlab simulation. Multi-GNSS positioning needs to estimate time-offset between GNSSs, and we consider time-offset determination algorithm at both system and user level. For the reality, we apply 3D map information near the Teheran-ro to the simulation, and we expect this simulation would work as a predictor of navigation performance in downtown.
