Proposal for Korean GNSS Market Analysis Framework Through Benchmarking of EUSPA Market Report

With the official launch of the Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) and the rapid onset of the Space Economy era, the strategic value of the Korea Positioning System (KPS)—the nation's satellite navigation infrastructure—and its downstream application industries is being increasingly emphasized. This study proposes a "Korean GNSS Market Analysis Framework" by localizing the analytical methodologies of the EUSPA Market Report 2024 to suit the domestic industrial environment. Specifically, 14 domains relevant to the GNSS market were categorized into four groups—Major, Growing, Limited, and Niche—based on their industrial relevance and strategic importance within South Korea. Furthermore, K-GNSS optimization strategies were derived with a focus on specialized domestic sectors, such as Public Safety (PS-LTE) and Industrial Solutions. The results of this study are expected to serve as practical guidelines for data-driven space policy formulation and the vitalization of private sector investment.
