Analysis on the Impact of Unintentional GNSS Jamming on National Infra-Facilities

In this paper, the result of the analysis on the impact of unintentional GNSS jamming on national infra-facilities is presented. In particular, actual test results on GNSS jamming at K-city, a driving test site for autonomous-vehicle, in Hwasung city, S. Korea are presented. Frequency spectrum analysis is performed on the received GNSS L-band signals to determine the presence of the jamming signal and, in parallel, a 2-D correlation was performed to identify the jamming signal type. The degradation of positioning performance by jamming in major facilities is assessed by comparing J/S ratio and GNSS-RTK positioning results for the same measured received signal. As a result of the analysis on the actual data, the jamming signal in the L2 band was detected and its type was identified in the form of intermittent Chirp and CWI.
