Real Implementation of Construction Field Support System using 3D Positioning and Wireless Communication

ReceRecently, there are several hot issues, real-time position tracking of workers, and wireless communication terminal instead of Walkie-talkie or cell phone as a result of construction-IT integration technologies in construction fields. In this paper, with reflection of current trend, we proposed the real implementation techniques for construction field support system based on the construction field office. Especially, we applied the indoor position tracking of workers and construction vehicle developed by ourselves for the GNSS blocked environment like tunnel and basement. And the position can be acquired with 3-dimention including altitude. One of the most important and the required technologies is the voice communication on wireless device. The voice communication has to be available not only between terminals but also between the terminals handed on workers and construction field control center. We are suggesting the new concept of the total voice integrated tracking and wireless communication technologies and services for construction field with the high-ended converged and integrated IT. The proposed support system has already implemented for the field and Doosan E&C provides the test-bed for field test. So this paper includes the field test procedure, real field test, and the result of several test in real for the proposed construction field support system.
