Real-Time Indoor Positioning System Using Smartphone and External IMU
JeongGeun Chae*, SangSik Kim, Chansik Park

In this paper, current positions and trajectory are displayed on the smartphone screen in real -time using received data from external IMU. Attitudes and accelerations are measured from the IMU, and received data is transmitted by the Bluetooth. Steps and directions are determined using PNS (Personal Navigation System) algorithm in the smartphone. And positions and trajectory are displayed using determined steps and directions on smartphone screen. Through this research, it is confirmed that real-time position is possible, and it will be available conveniently in complex indoors. To accurate personal navigation, algorithm to reduce the error and maps information will be applied.
