This paper present a system to improve location performance and range from existing beacon-AP based positioning system by setting footprint of directional antenna that send each different WiFi beacon signal on each path. For example, the footprint of each antenna can be set as follows. If the AP is installed in the corridor can be set to two directions. Also, if the AP is installed in the intersection can be set to four directions. Then, we can determine the position and the moving direction by WiFi scan result because signals of each antenna can be distinguished clearly at each position using RSS. Especially, when the path loss model is selected adaptively by recognizing user's entry direction from the user's last position and the navigation map information, this system can be improved the location performance with the user's moving direction from existing single antenna Beacon-AP based positioning system. By field experiments, performance of the proposed new indoor navigation system better than previous system will be verified.
