This paper introduces the performance evaluation system for detection of jackknifing or rollover accident which are easy to be generated in the articulated vehicles represented by hazard material transport vehicles. As to the traffic accident of large vehicles, the scope of damage is bigger than the other vehicles. Particularly, the secondary damage is bigger and this damage can seriously threaten the public safety in the case of the vehicle transporting the chemicals and oil related material. Therefore, in this paper, the jackknifing and rollover accident detection using the hazard material transport vehicle HILS is handled. Because actually there are a lot of limitations such as cost, location, risk and etc., HILS makes the experiment such as the jackknifing or rollover possible in the room. The hazard material transport vehicle HILS is comprised of 3 parts of the control rack, vehicle simulator, GPS/INS simulator. The experiment is performed for the confirmation of change about vehicle's movement, attitude while Large vehicle, such as the actual is driving for simulation. And this paper deals with the accident detection performance evaluation system which confirms risk's level and detection on the jackknifing and rollover accident by developed method for accident detection.
