Jammer Identification Techniques using Template Matching Method

The performance of anti-jamming techniques changes greatly depending on the type of jammer source. Therefore, the jammer identification technique is necessary to apply an appropriate jammer countermeasure technique. This paper proposes a jammer identification technique based on template matching method. First, known template of jammer types are generated based on the characteristics analysis result for identification. Next, the Euclidian distance between the template and the normalized spectral-correlation estimation result is calculated for defining the similarity. Finally, based on similarity analysis, the type of jamming signal is defined and the identification process is completed. The validity of the proposed technique is shown by software-based simulation.
