Implementation of MATLAB based High-Speed GPS L1 Signal Generator with Parallel Computing

In this paper, a recursive GPS L1 IF signal generator is designed for a software GPS receiver (SDR). The signal generator can supply an infinite span signals by adding an external output device based on TCP/IP. MATLAB parallel processing function “parfor” is applied to generation of satellites signal in order to operate on real time. The performance evaluations of the designed signal generator show that similar positioning results are obtained by comparing with an IF signal from a commercial GPS receiver. The Performance of “parfor” based parallel computing is higher than ordinary serial computing when number of channels is over 40.
